| Youth Statistics and Research New research from the Vanier Institute for the Family has found there are more problem children today than 50 years ago. York University professor Anne-Marie Ambert, the author of the study, says the finger of blame points at everyone: parents, schools, neighborhoods and the media. Problem behaviors include acts that hurt others, such as being disruptive, aggressive or delinquent.
Today's youth will be running North America within 20 years including our governments, schools and hospital systems. The time to make change is now! Please see the below statistics keeping in mind that most youth are not skilled at integrity or know how to live and prosper in our great nation!
The rise of youth, criminal activity is also of great concern. According to Stats Canada, in Canada alone, 84 youth were accused of homicide in 2006, involving 54 victims. This rate was the highest since 1961, when data was first collected and includes all young persons aged 12 to 17. The youth crime rate increased 3% in 2006, the first increase since 2003. Violent crime among youth rose 3%. "Other" Criminal Code offences, such as mischief and disturbing the peace, were up 9%. About 74,000 youth were charged with a criminal offence in 2006, and a further 104,000 were cleared by other means.

Feedback: Student’s Thoughts on Lesson after Demonstrations and Activities
1. Maybe I shouldn’t drag my feet … it got me thinking 2. It was awesome! 3. Had a good time. 4. I'm not used to these types of activities. 5. I am challenging myself to walk in correct posture for one week. 6. It felt comfortable (to be in correct posture). 7. I don't see teachers teaching students how to walk correctly. Only parents do that! 8. Cool to know about that kind of stuff and about what can happen later in life.
Eight out of nine students said they would use the information they learned. Notes from Teacher: I witnessed students making an effort to correct posture. The one and only behavioral student in the group felt self conscious and had some difficulty participating during the beginning of the lesson. But, by the end of the lesson, he was fully participating in the activities with his classmates. Student morale increased. Students bonded through the team-building elements of the activities. There was a big cheer from students at the end of lesson. They had fun, enjoyed it and it created enthusiasm within them.
